Emanuel School’s Debaters’ success in the 2017 competition has seen our School awarded HICES (Heads of Independent Co-educational Schools) Debating Champion School, from close to 40 schools who competed in the competition. The Junior, Middle, Senior and Open teams all progressed to the Quarter Finals of the state-wide competition.
The Middle Team was also awarded the Middle Chapman Cup for their skilled argument in the Grand Final: “That parents should get permission from their children before posting about them online”, while Lara, Year 8, won the title of Best Debater in the Middle Division finals.
