Top UAI was Jonathan Kummerfeld with 99.80. Two other students close to this rank were

Merit Lists


Merit lists are made up of students who earned 90+ (Band 6 or E4) in individual courses.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald (Dec 17-18 Weekend Edition), Emanuel was listed as:
7th in the State for Mathematics
and
12th in English.
Taking into account the percentage of students gaining over 90 in all courses, the Herald ranked Emanuel 18th in the State.

Individual Subjects and Courses


In 2005, Emanuel students studied a variety of 25 courses in 17 different subjects.

Band 6 is the highest Band awarded for a course and indicates a mark above 90.Band 5 is the next highest Band awarded and indicates a mark above 80. For Extension Subjects, the highest two Bands awarded are E4 and E3.


In 7 of those courses, 50% or more of the Emanuel candidature gained the highest Band possible (Band 6 or E4 for extension courses).


In 15 of those courses, more than 30% of the Emanuel candidature gained the highest Band possible (Band 6 or E4 for extension courses).


In 14 of those courses, 100% of the Emanuel candidature gained the highest two Bands possible (Band 6 or E4 for extension courses).


In 19 of those courses, more than 80% of the Emanuel candidature gained the highest two Bands possible (Band 6 or E4 for extension courses).

In 24 of those 25 courses, 50% or more of the Emanuel candidature gained the highest two Bands possible (Band 6 or E4 for extension courses)
