Chess

The Primary Chess Squad is made up of an enthusiastic group of students from Years 3-6, who compete in several rounds of trials to gain entry.

The 15 or so players compete in a weekly interschool competition and receive regular training to hone their skills.

The Primary Chess Squad also competes in the annual Jewish Schools' Chess Competition. This involves students from Emanuel School, Moriah College, Masada College, Mount Sinai College and Kesser Torah College.

In addition, a keen group of Years 1-2 are exposed to the rudimentaries of chess during their lunchtime on a weekly basis. The Chess Club meets under the guidance of upper primary and lower secondary students, and participants play against each other in an annual tournament.
