Emanuel School – a co-educational Jewish Day School – is a thriving place of learning. Jewish Studies Teacher (Full time, Term 2)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Jewish Studies Teacher to join our team. This is a full-time, temporary position commencing at the beginning of Term 2 (28 April 2025 to 4 July 2025). This role will include teaching Years 7, 8, 10 and 11 Jewish Studies and Year 7 Hebrew.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator who holds students’ Jewish learning and development as the highest priorities. They will be an experienced, successful and qualified educator who is highly organised and professional, with a passion for ensuring the best possible education for students.  Teachers with strong knowledge of  Torah, Jewish texts and Hebrew are especially encouraged to apply.

Emanuel School is looking for a Specialist Teacher – Learning Differences & Disabilities (7-12) to join our Specialist Learning Centre. This is a part-time (0.6FTE over 4-5 days), permanent position. This position is available immediately.  We are looking for someone with a proven record of working collaboratively with teachers to support students who require additional support in High School Maths and Literacy. 

The successful applicant will be a suitably qualified High School teacher with both tertiary qualifications in teaching and in aspects of specialised/additional needs, particularly with students who are generally high functioning. The successful applicant must also hold a current Working With Children Check.

Music Teacher Years 3-6 | 0.4FTE Contract Role

We have an opportunity for a talented and passionate music teacher to join our team. This is maternity leave position available from 27 May 2025 until May 2026. This is a part-time (0.4FTE) position. Days of work are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Our Music Department operates a vibrant extra-curricular program and it is expected that all members of the team take an active role in the leadership and execution of the programs. We aim to develop in each student a life-long passion for music, foster a sense of achievement and encourage all students to strive towards excellence.

The successful applicant will have proven experience delivering engaging, quality educational programs in classroom Music. You will have outstanding communication and organisational skills and will enjoy working as part of a dynamic team providing a high standard of service and support to students, parents and staff within our broad-ranging music program. Confidence singing and some experience of choral conducting are both desirable.

Primary School Operations Assistant

The Primary School Operations Assistant is a key member of our Primary School administration team. They provide support to the Deputy Head of Primary – Operations in all things relating to the Primary School, including attendance, camp/excursion organisation, event management, data entry, and supporting a variety of projects relating to the general life of the school. 

This is a full time, permanent position that works all year round, with the exception of the school closure period over December/January. Other leave is available throughout the year during the school holidays by mutual agreement. 

The hours are 8.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility may be required in instances where children have not been picked up by parents, early departures or late arrivals from events etc.  

They will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Head of Primary – Operations in all aspects of school life including attendance, school calendar and event management, project support, preparation for the start of the school year, communication with parents, students and teachers.

School Science Laboratory Technician

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lab Technician to join our High School Science Department. This position is a part-time job share position working one day per week (Friday 8am – 4pm), term time only. 

The successful applicant will have proven experience in working in a laboratory setting and an understanding of the basic scientific concepts being taught in schools and hold a current Working With Children Check. 

This position would be well-suited to someone in their final years of study, a science teacher who is looking for a change of pace in their career, or someone with lab experience looking to balance other responsibilities.

Facilities and Operations Administration Assistant

The Facilities and Operations Team are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Administration Assistant. This is a permanent part-time position, requiring 15 hours per week, spread over 3 days. The days of the week are flexible.

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in an administration position,  be highly organised and have a can-do attitude. They will be calm under pressure and have strong communication skills. You will also be required to have a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Oboe/Bassoon Tutor

We are seeking an Oboe Teacher to commence Term 2, 2025. This role involves providing private and group tuition, with a focus on double-reeds, including beginner bassoon. The ability to guide clarinet lessons is highly desired. You will work across both the Junior and Senior school and must be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. 

Possessing formal music qualifications, you have a track record of developing high performing young musicians, the skills and confidence to manage student behaviour and a demonstrated ability to both inspire young people to find their passion in music and motivate students at differing levels of ability.

You must be an outstanding communicator, creative, and able to work well with students, parents, and other staff. You are committed to continual professional development and reflection and have a genuine interest in the growth of young people.

You have a willingness to work outside of regular school hours for performances and events, when required.

You are enthusiastic, passionate, and prepared to contribute to all aspects of School life, including supporting the vision and goals of the school.
